Trapiche Amethyst Necklace

Wearable Art made by my hands and Mother Nature.

This is an unusual type of Amethyst called a Trapiche. "Trapiche” is a Spanish word describing a medieval type of milling wheel used to crush sugar cane. The crystal is called Traphiche due to the similar appearance between the spokes of the mill and the growth pattern of the gemstone's inclusions. The result is this spectacular star burst formation.

Amethyst is known as natures tranquilizer because it helps to relieve stress and anxiety. It is said to  dissolve negativity and can alleviate sadness and grief.

Often viewed as a stone of peace, some believe amethyst's calming presence produces soothing dreams by bringing the dreamer more in tune with the Divine. This clarity and peacefulness extends to the waking mind. Amethysts are said to help the mind flow freely in both mental and metaphysical dimensions.

Amethyst is often used during meditation to provide an overall sense of spiritual balance.

The stone is 47mm high and 42mm across. The  entire necklace weighs 23g

I strung this Amethyst cabachon on a 100cm hand twisted adjustable cord. The stopper beads are Amethyst, Sunstone/Moonstone in combination and Kunzite.

I use high quality Linhasita macrame cord imported from Brazil. I believe it is the best on the market, it is very durable and long lasting.
