Iolite Tower #3

This listing is for 1 beautiful polished Iolite slab. This was devilishly hard to photograph, it is so incredible in person!

A special find. It has loads of glittery sparkles in purple, pink, silver, red, green and blue as you turn it through the light.

Iolite is named after the Greek word "ios," meaning violet. The rich purple-y to blue hues of iolite earned this gemstone the nickname of water sapphire. Only officially named in 1912, iolite still was loved and valued by cultures throughout history. 

Iolite stimulates memory and helps those suffering from insomnia enjoy better sleep, as well as prevent nightmares and any disturbances in sleeping patterns. 

Iolite was also called the Viking’s Compass. It was a stone that would help the ancient explorers steer their wooden ships across wild seas as they sought new land far from the sweeping icy fjords. It’s no coincidence that Iolite served as a compass, it is a stone of vision across all plains.
