Rainbow Obsidian was formed when lava once cooled at different times, and captured Magnetite nanoparticles within these layers. The Magnetite nanoparticles cause multicolored iridescence that shines bright when any light hits it.

Rainbow Obsidian is a stone that activates our root chakra and pulls us back down to earth. It's a stone that can be used to help heal a broken heart, provide support for someone in grief, or simply offer up an abundance of love and happiness to someone in need. This stone is here to hold you when you need it most, while also giving you back strength to help overcome these heartaches so that you may begin to heal. 

This moon measures 77mm from tip to tip of the Crescent and weighs 141g

I normally only take photos in natural light but in this case have used a torch light to show the rainbow sheen. Photos are completely unedited.
